This February had been fairly dry. In the mountains, we did have a few snowy days, but it was the kind where it would snow, but wouldn't accumulate. The end of January gave us a rainstorm, which had cut our snowpack by half. That ended last week. It's still snowing. Higher up in the mountains, they got a couple of feet, down closer to town, we got about a foot .
There is a certain beauty about a New England winter. You suffer through some hard times and you get rewarded with magic.

It looks very peaceful and serene. Cold, but peaceful.
It is peaceful and serene. Until the snowmobiles get started... ( I won't go there.)
It wasn't cold. only about -3C. For us that's pretty nice!
I'm glad you said that about magic. I know i haven't had the snow the rest of the country has had this year, and i am very ready for spring/summer, but looking at your photos...it's just soo beautiful. I especially love the photos of the snow on the evergreens and the unique shape in that 3rd photo.
Yes...magical. Excellent description.
Beautiful pictures. Being a New Englander myself, I know it isn't easy some days to go brave the cold to get pictures like these.
