May's Collecting

This is all I've gotten for May, except for the mourning cloak. I did include the upper and lower views of two, (the Mustard White and the skipper,I haven't had time to sit and identify.) Click on the photo to see larger.

How big is your collection?

Just 6 right now. In late fall, they will be packed up and sent off for id and storage with the state.
I've collected a Mustard White,Mourning Cloak, Spring Azure (probably a Cherry Gall Azure),Dreamy Duskywing,Clouded Sulphur, and an Eastern Comma.

Nice set! Duskywings are so difficult (especially from photos). I've seen other interesting Polygonia species nearby in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Pink-edged sulphur is also a fairly reliable occurrence in that part of the world. Sounds like your season is off to a great start!

Thanks Doug. I am very curious about the bog habitats, and alpine too. Saddleback's summit is above treeline, but I don't have much on record about what species might be there. And another one of our survey member had some real good collecting on a bog. It just has to warm up a little.
