C. longilabrisTaken from the same spot as the outhouse. So far this year this one will make 4 species of Cicindela from one spot. This place is crazy with them. And solitary bees. I also was found by my first blackfly of the season. Don't listen to their "season". They stay until freeze up.

So very jealous! I've seen the green variety of longilabris in both the Sierras and the Olympics on the west coast. This is one of the species that I'm hoping to see next month when I'm up at Colby.
I know one place to see them. It was odd, I could pretty much pet the little guy.
Let me know if you are going to be over this way.
I had a similar experience with the perviridis subspecies in the West. You could easily get close enough for a good photo.
Details of where I'll be in Maine are still being worked out. I assume that this site is near Rnagely. Any idea how long it would take to get there from Waterville?
The site is in Rangeley, that's all I'll say for now. You will need some good repellent, it high bug season when you'll be up. Waterville is about 2 hours from Rangeley.
I've got some specimens of this species in my collection, but they were collected by others - I'm really anxious to find (and photograph) this one in the wild for myself.
Tiger beetle hot spots rule!

HI Ted,
You'll have fun playing with these guys. I have corralled them around with my finger, they do seem curious.
